Are There Transit Timing Variations for the Exoplanet Qatar-1b?

چکیده
Motivated by the unsettled conclusion on whether there are any transit timing variations (TTVs) for exoplanet Qatar-1b, 10 new light curves presented and a TTV analysis with baseline of 1400 epochs is performed. Because linear model provides good fit reduced chi-square false-alarm probabilities possible frequencies as large 35%, our results consistent null-TTV model. Nevertheless, ephemeris reference time T0 = 2455647.63360 ± 0.00008 (BJD) period P 1.4200236 0.0000001 (day) obtained. In addition, updated orbital semimajor axis planetary radius in units stellar provided, lower limit modified tidal quality factor also determined.

RISE: a fast-readout imager for exoplanet transit timing
By the precise timing of the low amplitude (0.005 0.02 magnitude) transits of exoplanets around their parent star it should be possible to infer the presence of other planetary bodies in the system down to Earth-like masses. We describe the design and construction of RISE, a fast-readout frame transfer camera for the Liverpool Telescope designed to carry out this experiment. The results of our ...
متن کاملExoplanet Transit Parallax
The timing and duration of exoplanet transits has a dependency on observer position due to parallax. In the case of an Earth-bound observer with a 2 AU baseline the dependency is typically small and slightly beyond the limits of current timing precision capabilities. However, it can become an important systematic effect in high-precision repeated transit measurements for long period systems due...
متن کاملTransit Timing Variations and orbital stability
We confirm 27 planets in 13 planetary systems by showing the existence of statistically significant anti-correlated transit timing variations (TTVs), which demonstrates that the planet candidates are in the same system, and long-term dynamical stability, which places limits on the masses of the candidates—showing that they are planetary. All of these newly confirmed planetary systems have orbit...
متن کاملTransit spectrophotometry of the exoplanet HD 189733b
Context. We present a new primary transit observation of the hot-jupiter HD 189733b, obtained at 3.6 μm with the Infrared Array Camera (IRAC) onboard the Spitzer Space Telescope. Previous measurements at 3.6 microns suffered from strong systematics, and conclusions could hardly be obtained with confidence on the water detection by comparison of the 3.6 and 5.8 microns observations. Aims. We aim...
متن کاملTelescope search for the transit of the Earth - mass exoplanet
Results from exoplanet surveys indicate that small planets (super-Earth size and below) are abundant in our Galaxy. However, little is known about their interiors and atmospheres. There is therefore a need to find small planets transiting bright stars, which would enable a detailed characterization of this population of objects. We present the results of a search for the transit of the Earth-mas...
